Story Producer
Audio Storytelling
I'm interested in creating stories that range from more traditional reporting to exploring personal narrative to using creative and experimental sound design and prose. Most often, I'm blending these approaches which was my general approach to my podcast, A Therapist Walks Into a Bar.
In August 2019 I joined KCRW's 24 Hour Radio Race with a team of 3 other talented producers: Chelsea Kigano, Emily Shaw, and Lilia Vega. Our piece, "This Shadow", won an honorable mention putting us in the top 4 our of over 150 entries.
My latest project, "...and then I woke up," centers around audio dream logs from 2017 and is currently in process. The piece that sparked the larger vision for this project was released on The White Whale Podcast in February of 2018. You can listen by clicking the link.
Outside of my own projects, I've provided editorial support to a number of projects and worked as a producer on a podcast for Brit + Co with Pod People and have consulted with various companies on developing their podcasts. I'm open to collaborations with other storytellers, producers, and artists of different mediums as well as corporate clients. Please contact me if you have something in mind.
Writing
In addition to creating audio content, I've been writing for various online publications since 2014 with pieces featured in Psyched In San Francisco Magazine, Huffington Post, Psych Central, and Elephant Journal. In August, 2018 a piece I wrote was published in the mental health and art print magazine, Anxy.
I like to write conversational style pieces that use storytelling to make concepts from the field of psychology more accessible. I've written on a diverse range of topics from white privilege to substance abuse to the housing crisis to navigating competing needs in relationships.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Voices
From Drones to Phones: Security vs Freedom in Romantic Relationships
Living and Loving in the Nation's Most Expensive City
Contact me if you would like to commission a piece for your publication.
